Oschersleben Woes

Terrible week for the Oldie team. Hopes had been high as Tom embarked on one of his marathon testing sessions and got down to a respectable (for us) time. So he was expecting a points finish. At the other side of the garage Mike had no such luxuries and would, as ever, do about 20 mins on race night to familiarise himself with the track, qualify last and wait for the fast guys to fall off whilst keeping an eye out for the cars lapping him.

Come NGT race night the woes started early as Mike couldn't connect to the Net never mind the race. Something to do with Call Minder said BT. This meant a no show for half the team. In the race Tom qualifies 2/3rds down the grid then, and I quote, "I drove like a twat Mick" unquote.

GT race night was slightly better as both cars qualified but Mike was out on Lap 1 as a warping car reappeared in front of him and he speared off into the wall damaging his car. By the time repairs were completed he was about 2 laps adrift and had lost the will to live so retired rather than get in the way. Several laps later Tom was off and out too.

Of the two drivers Tom took this week badly and will not compete in next weeks events at Estoril as he has gone to Whitby to nurse his bruised and batterd ego. Sun and beer-what a life these dedicated pro drivers have. Mike will stay at home and compete with the rain and cheap Asda orange juice.

On a lighter note the grumpy old sods can't decide whether to shell out for the hype that is known as Rfactor. After testing public opinion it was decided to hang on to the money and see what happens over the next few weeks. The teams budget would be tight with GTL coming along in October. Besides Mike looks like he might have to upgrade his machine to raise the paltry 20/25 fps in GTR.

Finally the team hopes the proposed numbering and painting of cars comes off as this will add to the enjoyment of the game

Anyway its Obregado and off to Portugal
